CCleaner is one of the widely used tools for
optimizing your computer. Oftentimes, we try to get more out of it by making
adjustments to several settings. However, some settings require advance
knowledge and, if we try to change it, may cause either program failure or even
deletion of important files. When this happens, the most common thing to do is
to remove the application and reinstall it. You can, however, fix this without
having to reinstall CCleaner; all you have to do is reset the settings back to
default.
1.
Launch
CCleaner. Double-click the
shortcut icon on your desktop or search the list of installed programs in your
computer.
3.
Select
"Advanced." This should be
the last option on the left. You will be shown the advance options of CCleaner.
4.
Click
on the “Restore default settings” button. A window will pop up asking for confirmation. Click on
"Yes" to proceed.
5.
Run
Intelligent Cookie Scan. CCleaner
will ask if you want to scan and keep frequently used cookies. You can select
"Yes," as recommended. If you don’t wish to keep any cookies at all,
just choose "No."
